About us

Our History

exentra GmbH was founded in 2002 together with csi Entwicklungstechnik GmbH in Neckarsulm. The focus of the team, which at that time consisted of five people, was initially on consulting services and software processes for the development departments of German premium car manufacturers. In only two years, the exentra team grew to 13 employees and gained further customers from the automotive sector as well as, for the first time, from the aerospace industry. For instance, several employees were deployed in the development of the A380 and A350 aircraft programmes in virtual prototype construction in Hamburg over a period of two years. In 2006, we launched our modular software framework rpi, today’s PD Engine.

After the spin-off from csi in 2010, we moved our company headquarters to the metropolitan region of Munich, to Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm. This also shifted our focus in terms of content in the direction of software development. In 2012, the PD Engine gave rise to the two software products exentra Project and exentra Package, which – in addition to individual developments – are successfully used by many of our customers.

Since 2014, exentra GmbH has also been a recognized IHK training company for IT specialists in various fields. We now employ 20 people and are proud of our long-standing partnerships with companies such as Porsche, Daimler, John Deere and many others.

Our Mission

In the products we develop, we do our very best to consolidate our users’ knowledge in a smart and secure data source and to make it as easy and convenient as possible for them to access the information.

The solution is to reduce the data to the essentials. To achieve this, we integrate data from a wide variety of systems and make it available quickly and efficiently for a wide variety of applications via a single point of entry. Whether development engineer, project manager, product manager, controller or the management – with our software, everyone gets the information they need. Quickly and easily. In this way, sources of error can be reduced to a minimum, time and resources saved and quality increased to a maximum.

That’s why our customers and partners always have a direct line to our developers, who think analytically, act in a solution-oriented manner and turn complex things into simple solutions. Social Commitment

Not only our economic actions, but also ethical values shape our everyday work at exentra. We do our best to act in a sustainable and resource-saving way. In order to be CO2-neutral in the foreseeable future, we purchase green electricity from the region, for example, and provide our employees with company bicycles. We are actively involved in regional associations and promote our relationships in the region. In addition, we support different donation organisations with a part of our profit and with them, among others, different projects in developing countries, help for war refugees or socially disadvantaged people.
